Abstract

Abstract Objective: Methicillin-Resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) in raw beef threatens public health by enabling resistant infections, spreading through food chains, and bridging animal-human transmission. Addressing it requires coordinated efforts in food safety, agriculture, and healthcare. Materials and Methods: 112 raw beef samples were taken from the boneless outer surface of shoulder and thigh of beef carcasses. then methicillin- resistant S. aureus were isolated by traditional methods . LNPs-PL were prepared by ultra- sonication and high-shear homogenization techniques. The manufactured formulation\\\'s encapsulation efficiency, loading capacity, and physicochemical characteristics were evaluated. Using scanning electron microscopy (SEM), the morphology of LNPs-PL was examined. The chemical makeup of the tested regular oil and LNPs-PL was evaluated using GC/MS analysis. To compare the antibacterial activity of LNPs-PL and ordinary PL, in vitro experiments were performed. Results: The prevalence of MRSA among raw beef samples was 50/112 (44.6%). Out of these 50 S. aureus isolates, 20 (40%) were confirmed as MRSA. the result of The antimicrobial activity of LNPs-PL showed an increased level of inhibition on the MRSA bacteria to (36.0 mm) comparative to (14.0 mm) with propolis (PL) Highly significant difference (P<0.01). LNPs-PL showed significantly larger inhibition zones vs. PL. Conclusion: Based on the findings of the study. modifications should be made in the loading capacity, encapsulation efficiency, and physicochemical properties. Our findings confirmed that SLNs are effective PL carriers for controlling bacterial and fungal diseases and further research is needed on them. These findings suggest that LNPs-PL could be developed as natural antimicrobial agents for food preservation or surface sanitization in the food industry.
