Authors: Hossein Arouiee , Maryam Kahrobaeian , سعید حسن زاده مبینی ,Abstract
The insecticidal activities of the essential oils of five different medicinal plants (cumin, thyme, peppermint, fennel and rosemary) were investigated on control of greenhouse whitefly and (Trialeurodes vaporariorum) spider mite (Tetranychus urticae Koch). There were significant different between most of treatments and control. The activity of the essential oils were evaluated on basis of fatalities percent of the pests after three days from application. Results in this study, indicated that the most effective natural pesiticides for whitefly control were thyme (Thymus vulgaris L.) cumin (Carum caraway) and fennel (Foeniculum vulgar) with 8, 7 and 5 ppm concentration, respectively. And for spider mite control most effective the natural pesticide were rosemary (Rosrmarinu officinalis L.), peppermint (Mentha piperita) and thyme (Thymus vulgaris) with 5, 8 and 8 ppm concentrations, respectively.
