copper(II) complexes present some unique properties in copolymerization of olefiris with functional monomers[l-3]. β-Ketoamin complexes of copper(II) are catalysts based on N,O-chelate ligands that are important[4] because of their ease of preparation and modification of both steric and/or electronic effects. In this research, Bis(4-aminopent-3-en-2-onato)copper(Il) was synthesized according to Lacey [5] and after recrystallization from ethanol the needle like crystals were yielded. Fourier transform IR and raman spectra of this compound were recorded. The molecular equilibrium geometry of this cmpound were computed with the GAUSSIAN 03 [6] software system and the calculated vibrational frequencies were obtained at Density Functional Theory level using the 6-3 IG* basis set. These frequencies are compared with the experimental Fourier transform JR and Raman spectra.
