In thispaper,thebucklingandpost-bucklingofsteelthin-walledsemi-sphericalshellsareinvestigated under differentloadings,bothexperimentallyandnumerically.Variousverticalcompressionloadings are appliedtospecimensusingthefollowingmethods:arigidflatplateandsomerigidbarswith circular,squareandsphericalcrosssections,arigidtube,aplatewithahole,andanindentedtube.The effects ofgeometricalparametersofspecimensonthebucklingload,suchasthediameterand thickness,arestudied.ThenumericalanalysisiscarriedoutbyABAQUSsoftwareandtheexperimental tests areperformedusinganInstron8802servo-hydraulicmachine.Thenumericalandexperimental results aresimilartooneanother.Therefore,thenumericalresultsarevalid.
