Objective: It is established that mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) derived from various sources in addition to the similarities; they have some differences in the characteristics such as growth rate that may affect the therapeutic application.. So, the aim of this study was to compare growth rate of equine adipose derived MSCs (AMSCs) which were derived from two different adipose tissues (abdominal versus gluteal). Materials and Methods: AMSCs were isolated of two region ,first group region above the dorsal gluteal muscle (tail base) and second group Undergoing abdominal of one horse aging less 2 years. MSCs of each group were culthred until passage three. MSCs were seeded in 12-well plates with a density of 30,000 cells per well. Cells of 3 wells were daily trypsinized and counted up to day 8. To study for their growth characteristics, growth cure for cells was plotted. Results: Growth curve indicated the growth rate of AMCSs of gluteal region rapidly entered the log phase after a short adaptation period in culture .So, AMCSs of gluteal region had high growth capacity that need less culture time in vitro in order to cell therapy in equine medicine. Conclusions: We found that equine gluteal fat-derived MSCs have the better growth rate than adominal-derived MSCs and they are a more suitable choice for cell therapy in equine medicine.
