The discipline of Persian Language and Literature plays a vital role in transmitting experiences, knowledge, and culture to future generations. This field has been well-established at Iranian universities for a significant period. Students in this discipline often experience a decline in their positive attitudes and motivation toward their studies for various reasons. They may develop dissatisfaction with specific courses and assignments, which can eventually lead to academic burnout. One possible explanation for this phenomenon may be the course material and instructional techniques utilized by the professors. This study seeks to examine the level of satisfaction with the courses and teaching methods among undergraduate (160 students), master’s (98 students), and doctoral (81 students) students in the Persian Language and Literature Department at Ferdowsi University of Mashhad. The research employs qualitative and applied methods. To assess satisfaction, semi-structured interviews were conducted, and students were selected using convenience sampling. The questions were administered in person, and the students’ responses were categorized, considering frequency percentages and examples. The findings revealed that students have a moderate level of satisfaction with the teaching methods used by their professors. However, this satisfaction is not particularly high, and students expressed a need for changes in some course materials and teaching techniques. Therefore, it is essential to focus on utilizing innovative pedagogical methods and other strategies to enhance the relevance of the Persian Language and Literature discipline and reduce academic burnout among students.
