Abstract

Calomyscidae are a group of rodentia which are distributed in West Pakistan, throughout of Iran and Afghanistan to south western Syria and north of Torkamanestan to south of it. Information obtained from 10 species of Calomyscus collected from tow areas in Khorasan Province has been used to demonstrate new Karyotype in this genus. In this study chromosomes of Calomyscus from Khorasan Province were examined by conventional staining and C-banding techniques. The diploid chromosome number (2n) and the fundamental autosomal arm number (FN) were 44 and 62 respectively. In compative The autosomal set consisted of 12 pairs of telocentrics,5 pairs of acrocentrics and 4 pairs of sub-metacentrics. Both heterosomes were small telocentrics.
